New Year’s may have come and gone, but that doesn’t mean that the party is over. It is 2014 kid! You’re young, fabulous and broke. Just because winter isn’t over for two more months doesn’t mean you have to stay in. One day when you are crinkley and old you’re a going to wish you went out this Saturday and danced on a bar. Trust me.
When I was in college, I frequently ventured out on the weekends (aka Thursday, Friday, Saturday and sometimes Monday nights) in miniskirts, sleeveless tops and not much else. Maybe if I was feeling practical I’d throw on a leather jacket.
Now, what do I do? Well, not much of anything because I am b.o.r.i.n.g. On Friday nights I’m usually too tired from a long week of work. Sometimes I’ll go to a movie with my single friends because we are actually the Golden Girls. I usually force myself to go out on Saturdays (although last weekend I was wrapped up in a self-imposed “Mad Men” marathon). And do you know what I wear? Pants. Yes. I know. I don’t even remember the last time I wore a skirt out in January.
Well I’ve decided that 2014 is the year that I become young again and you should too. I put some outfits together below. Maybe some will inspire you. Though I’ll be honest, most of these outfits won’t keep you very warm – but who ever said looking fabulous was pain free?
(I did include some coats and pants because I have some common sense).
Baby It’s Cold Outside
She Works Hard For the Money
Mary Jane is on my mind…
Flap Me Darling
Sexy Can I?
You are the Dancing Queen
Punky and Pretty
Good Girl Gone Bad
Do you feel old now too? Let’s talk about it on Twitter. I’ll be monitoring the @BusterEllie account.
