The year is only half over, and we have already had some amazing album releases from Iggy Azalea to Pharrell.
If 2014 started out with a bang for great music, what does the rest of the year hold in store for us? Mark your calendars for the release of these upcoming albums!
Ariana Grande – “My Everything”
Ariana Grande’s upcoming sophomore album “My Everything” is sure to launch her success even further than her debut record did. Grande’s debut album “Yours Truly” put her on the charts and had people comparing her vocal range to that of pop diva Mariah Carey.
Grande’s newest single “Problem” features female rapper Iggy Azalea. The video puts together two of music’s most talked about artists into one catchy song that will have you saying to your ex, “I got one less problem without you,” with confidence.

“My Everything” drops on August 25.
Maroon 5 – “V”
Maroon 5 is totally the band who sang that song I loved in grade school, but I had no idea who sang it. “She Will be Loved” was the song, and only years later did I learn the name of the band who sang that song.
They have been around for forever, and their hits only keep getting better. Adam Levine has not only graced us with his hotness, but his band’s ability to keep cranking out chart topping music.
To name a few of the greats, “Misery,” “Payphone,” and “Moves Like Jagger” featuring the queen Xtina herself. Celebrate the release of their new album “V” in early September and check out their 10 biggest Billboard hits.
Maroon 5’s “V” will be available on September 2.
The Pierces – “Creation”
The Pierces are a band that may seem obscure, but chances are if you watch Pretty Little Liars, then you know at least one of their songs. Yes, The Pierces sing the ever catchy PLL theme song “Secret” that you know and love!
The band consists of sister duo Allison and Catherine Pierce, who have released many albums and EP’s since 2000. The duo almost quit the music industry, until they gained popularity with their third album, which contains the hit song “Secret.”
Here is the music video for their latest single titled “Believe in Me” from the album “Creation”:
The Pierces fifth album “Creation” will be released on September 1.
Banks – “Goddess”
Banks is a unique artist who is set to become very popular. After sampling a few of her tracks, I would describe her music as reminiscent of Lana Del Rey’s style.
Her music is considered R & B and it definitely lives up to its categorization, as Banks’ music is soulful and melodic. Much like when I listen to Lana Del Rey’s music, I would play this album when I need a moment to rest and think to myself in a quiet place. Her songs are definitely music for a certain mood or person who likes the slower tempo style but still wants powerful lyrics.
I would recommend the song “Waiting Game” off of Bank’s upcoming album:
Bank’s latest album “Goddess” drops on September 5.
Kenny Chesney – “The Big Revival”
Kenny Chesney’s upcoming album “The Big Revival” is the latest in a long line of album releases. As someone who isn’t a fan of country music, I was surprised to learn about the length of Chesney’s career.
His first album was released the year I was born, which means that he has been releasing a steady stream of albums for 20 years. This guy certainly has a lot of popularity and longevity in the country music industry and I am sure that his latest album will not disappoint country music fans.
Here is the music video for the first single, “American Kids,” to jam out to for the next couple months!
Kenny Chesney’s “The Big Revival” is out on September 23.
That’s the roundup of five artists whose upcoming albums are guaranteed to make us turn up the volume on our way out of 2014!
